Beloved Body
A Valentines Weekend Inspired Offering by Local Bodyworker and Qoya Movement Teacher, Danielle Small
Have you longed for a truly loving relationship with your body, deep self love, and to feel comfortable in your own skin? You are not alone. Culture, society, and media have contributed to the disempowerment of the feminine, and have created an epidemic of disconnection and toxic relationship to our own sacred vessels. Despite all the “how to’s” to reach this place, most of us are still confused and left wanting to know: How? How can I shift from the energies of rejection, wishing it would be different, and even loathing, into the energy of loving appreciation for my body?
Beloved Body is a playful practice for cultivating pleasurable presence with your body. Our body is our life partner, and creating a loving relationship with it is our empowered choice! A loving relationship with our bodies can help life feel like heaven on earth, and nourishes all other aspects of our lives. Come and experience how it can feel to fall in love with your beloved body!
My own desire to be in a truly loving relationship with my body is what inspired this practice. By combining Qoya movement, loving awareness with self touch, and massaging mantras of love into my skin inspired by Thich Nhat Hanh’s book, “True Love: a practice for awakening the heart”, I believe I have discovered a way through. I am curious and hopeful that it might be a portal for you, too!
